Event introduction

What the retreat is, and what it isn't.

The annual spring retreat is, for many of the people who come, the most important four days of the year. It is not a wellness weekend. It is not a meditation retreat in the conventional sense. It is four days in a small group, working with whatever the psyche brings — dreams, images, the material of an ordinary life — at the pace depth requires.

The 2026 theme is what wants to be born, and what is preventing it. That formulation tends to surface what is true for almost every participant, in different registers. We don't pursue the theme too hard; the work itself takes care of it.

The venue is Seminarhaus Bergwald in the foothills of the Wienerwald, an hour's drive from Vienna. Twelve places. Small sharing rooms. Vegetarian meals cooked on site.

Detailed description

What participants will experience.

The shape of a retreat emerges rather than being imposed. We begin with a slow opening circle on Tuesday evening — introductions, the theme laid out gently, a sense of the room.

Mornings are spent in silent practice — long walks in the woods, sitting by the stream, paired body-work. Afternoons are the working hours: dream groups, shadow work, occasionally psychodrama. Evenings are by the fire with a single image or theme.

Anna is present throughout, holding the frame but rarely intervening. Most of the work is done by the group itself — Anna's role is to keep the space clean enough that something can actually happen.

You do not need to have done individual work with Anna to apply. A short introductory call before the retreat is required; we want to ensure the work is suitable for you at this moment.
